I used to have a certain admiration for the ignorant faithful because i could never be so steadfast in my beliefs (which i believe is somewhat linked to my very diminished sense of self-esteem which was inherited itself from a very dysfunctional childhood). But now i realise how absurd they all sound. And i realise its akin to admiring the boy who lives in his mother's basement(ok i know we don't have basements). They walk the line their parents inculcated in them never veering from the path that was set out for them and ultimately living a boring and closeted existence.

I believe i can be as morally upright as them without having to live in fear/dependence of a god whose moral system dictates their own. I believe that only through then can i really know what it is to be kind and how to appreciate kindness. I believe that i don't need to live my life through a third party.

And in that way i'm stronger than them.

His humour is usualy of the deadpan sarcasm variety- the sort i love, but sometimes when the pickings are slim, he resorts to frat boy sexist jokes. Still funny if you take it at face level for what is.

www.pandora.com - the best thing since sliced bread. and then some. basically it takes in the name of an artist you like and then plays you back other music from artists that have the same musical qualities as the artist you like, from this musical database called the MUSIC GENOME PROJECT, which classifies songs according to the "genes" they have, like "melodic phrasing", "minor key tonalities", For eg i fed in m2m, my fav most underrated band and got back music from delta goodrem, aimee mann and meredith brooks(i feel vinicated) . I tried britney spears and got back trash from jump5 , christina aguilera, janet jackson and myra(?). So yea this site gets my two thumbs up, way up! Sadly it only has english artists inside. Oh and you have to input a valid US zip code for it to work (search online).

Ok i have a new online addiction: Sudoku!http://www.mousebreaker.com/games/sudoku/play.php

Its this brutal japanese puzzler thats eats your brain cells for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The thing is on easy difficulty it starts off quite simple enough but as the difficulty ramps up you have to use your own logic to solve through the puzzles...and sudoku forces you to develop your own techniques as you go along. You literally learn how to fill in the blanks yourself. As the difficulty ramps up the numbers they give you get lesser and lesser, they get more similar and the areas for guesswork gets bigger and bigger. I started off having to use a lot of guesswork cos i would reach a point where there were 2 possible numbers and i'll just follow the path of one of the numbers until it eventually falls apart but those situations are getting lesser and lesser :)

Its supposedly quite popular worldwide but hey i'm still a n00bie..

While i was reading this book called "Secrets of Angels and Demons" , i came across this passage in the book which highlighted similarities in the painting of the Creation of Adam and the cross section of the human brain. Turns out that Michelangelo frequently dissected human bodies and was quite familiar with the anatomy of the human brain.

The rest of the book highlights the conflicts between religion and science (predominantly the Catholic Church, the largest organised religion). However it also talks about how Dan Brown bullshits his way through the technology in the book (and some of it is really quite perposterous), and how little of what he says is really true...

got slapped with 3 extras and 50 dollars fine for losing camp pass. lan lan suck (insert fav appendage here). wil be serving them (medium rare thank you) on sundays. Finally got the vid for the cheerleading thingy..its quite fuzzy and shitty but its all i got to show for my effort. Will post a few pics, but as for the vid its 20+mb so if u wanna see leave a msg or pm me.

one new step learned today albeit quite unsuccessfully. Extension liberty. U noe how with each new diffcult step, the previous steps pale in comparison? Like when u are doing 24 km route march u think about how f*8ing easy 8km ? Or like how u thought that bounding from tree to tree was tree was downright easy after doing multiple arti-s consecutively? Well todays lesson brought that point out loud and clear, cos after i cleared it twice, i felt like anything was possible , like doing splits in mid-air. if we can master the liberty pyramid , thats it we confirm will win the com. No arguments about that.

So what the hell is a liberty? well its standing on only one leg, well above head level. You just have to take a look at how many ppl cannot do quad stretches properly before u realise how futile it can look like. Especially after 8-9 tries. Stunt was almost scratched because of that. And i stepped and fell on my bases many times. Even till the end of the lesson i couldn't do the stunt properly, but at least i remained in the air longer. Which unfortunately cannot be said for the past few attempts. The less revealed the better hehe.

But i noticed today that the break neck speed is taking a toll on us. Dance steps were not remembered correctly, even simple stuff like elevators were executed improperly, and tempers flared more than once or twice. My base group is still going strong though...mebbe its bcos of the common bond we share, the love for dirty jokes haha...

Working at my fathers drink stall is quite an eye opener actually...yeah sure joo chiat has fewer hookers and brothels but we do have our fair shair of budget hotels, ktv lounges and entirely legit, pure and wholesome massage parlours :)

So imagine my surprise when this middle aged ndian guy came in with some chio chinese chick in hot pants. None entirely :) however i took it upon myself as a concerned citizen of my neighbourhood watch community to monitor any err hemm 'underground activities' Voyeurs unite!

Basically to cut a long story short he had his fat grubby fingers all over her, while she was trying very hard not to look too disgusted and bored...and as he was whispering sweet nothings to her in another attempt to get in her pants. After a while they began to notice me staring at them.

Her look said :" Hey boy when u get older and mature like me, when u realise that the government screws u over and takes half your money, when your bf runs off with another girl and your virginity, when you get AIDS from some bisexual sod u met in a club... u would be so willing to sleep with fat middle aged guys for money too"

Not worth it i think...i dun want to spend my holidays this way. Apparently the other two people feel this way too, this girl called Nadia from VJC and this guy Ivan from NUS. They are so sianz already somemore the camp is just following after this. I am supposed to have a one more camp on week 3...but i dun think i want to take that too. We were able to get this job partly because we could come for more than 2 weeks. Aniwae we will see how it goes. Prob i'll do the frank thing and tell it like it is seewhther they can find a replacement...

lets see...i ask this fat kid to keep his big fat mouth shut. Twice. I taught them oh shit, damm and oh my gawd and came vey close to teaching them fuck...and after my despeate attempts to tell them those are very, very bad words...they caught on and started repeating them. two of the kids under my charge got hurt. one had stubbed his toe on some unidentified metalloid substance the other got his eye poked with a pvc insulation cover. And some p5 kids managed to manhandle me. Little hellfire brats. May them rot in hell. Or in the "Asshole Saturn" that they so lovingly came up with. Space and Rocketry 2004 indeed...

Actually there were quit a few gems...like this jap guy called tsumogu and this bright kid called issac. I bet issac is going to be popular with a lot of girls when he gets older...hes got the doe-eyed thing going on...girls just love that i supposed. there were some horrible ones however who didn't want to learn anything...so i just ignored them. Another oops? haha i dun really care now lah...might come up with a better description on friday when it all comes to an end...

And umm when i sent my mum to the airport on her trip to israel with New Harvest on monday there was this crazy lady spreading the love at changi airport by doing some early "carolling". her repertoire consisted of only 2 songs from what i heard (and mind you i heard for quite a bit...i was there for 3 hours) umm "yue liang dai biao wo de xing" and "silent night" And she mangled the lyrics for silent night. What a traversety. i hope she was carried away in handcuffs or alternatively never get laid for the umm emotional trauma she dealt to all the church going faithful who were there. And if u haven't guess yet...i wasn't one of them. The faithfully-going-church people. Still dunno what to do abt that...but thats another story.

went to animaxation at expo with emi, tk and yuki on saturday. Nothing much to see there most of the stuff we weren't that interested in like 350 books on lighting and rag-doll physics or comic books(the american kind). Half of it space devoted to a wide-screen tv that was playing a (badly) dubbed version of getbackers on animax which shld be arriving soon. Sad to say...i 've better quality subtitled versions of that..so i dunno whether i shld subscribe or not. Still kazuki is the chioest ('',)

yuki and i also signed up with shiro tsubasa which is actually miyuki anime club renamed....shiro stands for white and tsubasa stands for wings..but according to emi as the white is an adjective it shld act be shiroi tsubasa...haha the mac ppl try to gek seh plus the tsubasa part sounds wierd...reminds me of football for some reason... it looks like thats the only way i would be able to keep in touch with jap culture lovers for the next two years so y not. And tk is in denial...eh boy i say that your qualified to be an otaku :)

afterwards went out to eat pastamania. But tk and i were so sick that everything tasted liek paper...so we left like 2/3 pasta on the plate...and emi left like half on the plate bcos it was too hot. We could have just umm like ordered 2 plates...and save the farmers, factory processors, the wholsale distributors the importers the chefs the waitresses a whole lot of trouble :)

aniwae i got a job from tuesday to friday at some educational centre...training was today. Pay is abt 140 for 4 days from 9-5 me and this other guy get to take charge of 18 boys and 1 girl (score!) , all around primary school. Its about rocketery and science...and they are supposed to build a rocket as their main project for all the four days...which me and the other guy called ivan finished in 2 hours. They have other supplementary projects too...but we finished them all too. so iam not really sure how they can stretch it into 4 days...they have been doing this for 5 years so far so i suppose they now what they are doing. I'm supposed to be extroverted and forward apparently so i'm not sure what i'm going to do abt that...conjure up my happy happy konno face for a bit? the other guy is in uni already so hes taking all the upper primary and i'm taking the lower primary paper. The pay isn't that good lah...like abt 4 an hour..but now that i have taken the job i realise i have a larger responsibility than that towards my employers...i have a responsibility as well towards the kids and their parents. And considering that they are licensees of the prog from the usa which means that a large proportion of the money is paid overseas and that they can only hope to hold camps during the holidays...its a fair deal. Neko-chan hontoni gomenasai, i can't go and buy your ps2 on tuesday. Unless you all schedule it for after 6 lah...

hmm lets see where shld i start...

Roof climbing: Climbed up twice. First time thru there was too much lightning so we didn't linger for long. Exited via the comp lab link gate. Second time thru we climbed up the S and T centre, went across to the roof above the science labs and crossed over to the area above the library. Saw qh's breakdancing/free-running? group's "hallmark" there...then proceeded to the t-block via the roof above lt 2 and 4. Saw a bunch of bengs on bike and decided to wave to them. qh and joel nearly castrated themselves when exiting via the spiked protectors while i yx and ky mandaged to slide thru the perforated gate. Went over to v-block and decided to climb over the rain shelter to access level 4 . When there was already a staircase there :) We did pretty much everything we could already...(ladder to the v-block roof was locked) so we just exited from the hole in the v-block side. eunuch(?sp) was too ham(?sp) so he met us there.

Kenna raided by police on sat. had to give name address and ic. apparently some losers went into the lang lab turned on the air-con and triggered the alarm when wanjun has been staying there all this while. Moral of the story :"dun be stupid"

Played polar bear with some of the other muggers...and OMG Rachael is so much like alex its unbelievable...right down to the fact that they can't lie to save their butts. i think i confused everyone by refusing to defend myself.

Had 2 weeks worth of clay worked into my hair by joel in an attempt to tame it. Didn't work. Had to wash my hair twice with conditioners to get rid of one week worth. My hair still stands up in places.

If u want to get a lock in future...the only safe one is a key lock. everything from circular locks to 8 button combinations to 3 wheel rotations can be unlocked. The only exception so far is a circular button combination. Took only 2 satchets of milo and a candy bar. Will replenish b4 J1s get back.

Tried out some new instant porridge thingy and vacuum packed mu dan ..not bad. U have to really stir it well else it all solidifies at the bottom though

Still to do before exams are over : Climb the side of the v-block. Climb linkway.
